Our Story
Lucy and Andrew met online. Andrew was intrigued by Lucy’s interest in fruit and tortellini, and Lucy was curious about the seven flavors of homemade ice cream that Andrew had advertised, while noting that his piano playing wasn’t bad.
On a Sunday mid-morning, they went on their first date, bonding over shared memories of Washington summers. In their first 5.5 hours together, they ventured through San Francisco, visiting a bakery, riding in a Waymo, and acquiring two varieties of mandarins at a farmers market.
Fast forward a couple years, after raising ten pandan plants, binge-watching many seasons of reality TV, and countless failed attempts at hand-pulled noodles, Andrew started re-creating their early dates one by one. On one of these re-creations, they hiked to the top of Bernal Hill, where Andrew proposed admist amethyst wildflowers over the SF skyline.
With even more joy than she felt after trying the seven ice cream flavors, Lucy said yes.
